Halfway Point for Classes

For us this year, February is the month of foster/adopt training classes. After last night, we can officially say that we've reached the half-way point with them. Yay!! When we were first considering foster/adoption, one of the drawbacks for us was the several training courses. These classes are scheduled to last later into the evening or all day on Saturdays. We also have to drive about 45 minutes to/from each class. Having two children, the biggest concern for us was being able to find (reliable) babysitters. We live away from our family, so we knew we would have to depend upon local friends. We assumed we would have to ask and beg friends to help out. I was very worried that it would be impossible to find a sitter for each night/Saturday. I should have known not to put God in a box. If he can move mountains, surely he can provide a babysitter! And, through His greatness we have had several friends and neighbors volunteer to watch our children. We are so amazingly grateful for everyone who has taken their time to babysit! It has allowed us to (so far) attend all of the classes so that we can finish them this month.

  1. That's great!!

That's one reason we didn't go with foster-adopt. We went to the first meeting and learned that we had to train together at the same classes. Hubby is in grad school for a few more months and we just couldn't do it logistically. That is so nice you found sitters!! :) We live far from our family as well so it's hard when you're in a crunch.
