Christmas

I know this is late but this is the first "regular" day our family's had since Christmas. Aidan is back at school and Daniel is back at work. After having a couple weeks off, let me tell you it was very hard to wake up with my alarm and it was very difficult to get the kids out of bed/breakfast eaten/Aidan to school.
Our Christmas was spent in Illinois. This year we only stayed for a week, so that we would be able to spend New Year's here in Texas. The kids really enjoyed Christmas, but having four kids that get LOTS of gifts is crazy!! We couldn't even fit all of the presents in our van for the return trip, so Grandma had to mail them to us!!
It was Baby Sister's first Christmas, of course. I was initially worried she might feel overwhelmed or not enjoy it all. But, I was wrong. She loved opening gifts, ripping the wrapping paper, and trying to EAT IT! On Daniel's watch, she even ended up swallowing a small bit of paper (oops!). We were at one of our Christmas celebrations and she was even reaching over trying to tear open the other kids' gifts. She also did very well traveling and meeting all of our relatives.
The kids assumed we would see snow in Illinois for Christmas because last year there was some. We kept warning them that the forecast did not call for any snow. However, we were proved wrong when a couple days after Christmas we awoke to heavy snow and a little (around 1/2 inch) accumulation. The kids were very excited to put on the snow attire and go outside. The snow melted by lunch, but they at least had time to build a small tabletop snowman.
