Today was our last day of school. We've successfully completed our first year of homeschooling. I have to say, at the beginning I was very nervous about how the school year would go. I tried to organize everything before we started in August. Having it all planned out definitely made the first couple of months to go very smoothly. Then, we decided to move 800 miles. Selling our house, buying a house, packing and unpacking all created havoc on my original schedule. After getting settled into our new home, we finally got back into school. More important than my scheduling, is how much fun the kids had together this year. It was amazing to be able to witness first hand how much each of them have learned. Here's some photos of our last day of school.
These are from our end of the year writing/art assignments. The first one is each of them writing/drawing about their favorite time this school year. Aidan picked the day he learned long division.
Corey picked going on a nature walk at a park in Texas.
Olivia picked when we read our read-a-loud book "On the Banks of Plum Creek" as her favorite.

Olivia (that't not a beard but her long hair behind her head) says she is excited for a camp we are going to later this summer so that she can see her friends and eat pizza and swim.
Aidan was excited for the same family camp so that he can see his best friend.
Corey is looking forwards to going to the beach. We may not visit one this year since we are so far away :(
